The meeting, which is set to take place on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, brings together all the countries that have submitted bids to host AFCON tournaments in both 2025 and 2027. During this gathering, the Independent Assessment Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) will present their reports for assessment and discussion by the CAF Executive Committee.

Prior to this meeting, representatives from CAF had visited Nigeria to evaluate the facilities at various proposed host venues across the country. This assessment is a crucial part of the bid evaluation process.

Senator John Owan Enoh, in a statement on his official X account, explained the purpose of their visit to Egypt. He mentioned, “Our attendance is because Nigeria and the Benin Republic submitted a joint bid to host AFCON in 2027. Other Governments and Member Associations bidding to host AFCON in 2027 will also be in attendance.”

Each bidding country will have an opportunity to make a 10-minute presentation during the meeting and will later be allotted 15 minutes to respond to any questions or inquiries from the committee. Following these presentations and discussions, a comprehensive report will be submitted for assessment by the CAF Executive Committee.
