The Nigerian Army has destroyed four camps believed to be hiding places for the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and the Eastern Security Network (ESN) in Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo State. This operation, carried out by the Joint Task Force, Operation UDO KA II, uncovered disturbing evidence of criminal activities in these camps.

According to a statement by Jonah Uniakhalu, the spokesperson for the Joint Task Force, the troops engaged in a gun battle with individuals associated with IPOB and ESN during the operation. These individuals managed to escape into nearby forests with gunshot wounds. The operation also revealed shocking details about the activities in these camps, including cannibalism, occult practices, and ritual killings, all aimed at instilling fear in law-abiding citizens.

The statement further disclosed that the operation led to the destruction of a shrine belonging to a suspected terrorist named Amobi Okafor, also known as Temple. This shrine was allegedly used for human sacrifices. Additionally, the houses of two spiritual leaders (Dibias) who fled the scene were demolished. In total, the operation resulted in the neutralization of two IPOB/ESN members, the arrest of four criminals, and the recovery of various items from the camps.

Among the items recovered were different denominations of Biafra currencies, a new power bike, four motorcycles, solar panels, POP cement, and a petroleum tanker suspected to have been hijacked. These discoveries shed light on the criminal activities and the economic impact of the perpetrators.

The spokesperson emphasized that the Joint Task Force remains committed to ridding the Eastern region of Nigeria of terrorists, crime, and criminality. They encourage law-abiding citizens to contribute to this effort by providing timely and credible information that can help end the menace of insecurity caused by these terrorist groups.
