Reactions have followed the ministry nominee Balarabe Abbas Lawal’s breakdown during his Senate confirmation hearing on Wednesday.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, Balarabe spoke for a few minutes during his screening before abruptly passing out and falling to the ground.

A wild situation ensued in the chamber as numerous lawmakers rushed to the former secretary of the Kaduna State government’s assistance.

While Kaduna South Senator Sunday Marshall Katung was speaking about Balarabe’s administration experience in Kaduna, the nominee, who was seated at the stage, passed out.

Lawal, the second candidate to go through screening, had finished addressing the parliamentarians and was getting ready to take questions when the incident took place.

While efforts were being made to revive the candidate, who was still in the chamber, the Senate entered a closed-door session.

After the occurrence, numerous online users turned to social media to share their thoughts and opinions on the situation.
