Ganfeng Lithium Industry Limited Nigeria, a Chinese company operating in Nasarawa State, has raised concerns over an impersonating entity that is allegedly posing a threat to its corporate identity in the country. The company is now calling on the Nigerian federal government to investigate the activities of the entity, which operates under the name ‘Ganfen Lithium Group Co Ltd.’
In a statement signed by Andrew Kekunkun, Chief of Ganfen staff in Nasarawa, the company claimed that the impersonating entity, using its corporate name, has been engaging in illegal activities in Nigeria that have no bearing on its operations.
The statement clarified that Ganfeng Lithium Industry Limited, Nigeria, is a legally registered independent limited company in Nigeria, in compliance with Nigerian laws. Its business scope encompasses lithium ore exploration, extraction, laboratory analysis, processing, and the sale of lithium carbonate.
The company emphasized that it operates as a limited liability company in Nigeria, and its name ‘Ganfeng’ phonetically represents the aspiration for a fruitful harvest through hard work in Nigeria.
Furthermore, the statement affirmed that Ganfeng Lithium Industry Limited Nigeria conducts its activities as a reflection and promotion of its corporate culture and vision for the future. It stressed that the company has never relied on or utilized any resources or influence from Ganfeng Lithium Group Co., Ltd. to develop or engage in business activities in Nigeria.
The impersonation issue raises concerns about the potential damage to the genuine company’s reputation and operations in Nigeria, and the call for government intervention highlights the importance of protecting the identities and interests of legitimate businesses in the country.
