Minister of Petroleum Resources (Gas) Pays Courtesy Visit to Innoson Vehicle Plant, Commends CEO’s Ingenuity

The Honourable Minister of Petroleum Resources (Gas), Hon. Ekperike Ekpo, paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman/CEO of Innoson Vehicles, Chief Dr. Innocent Chukwuma (CON), at the IVM factory in Nnewi, Anambra State.

In a press release sent to Anaedoonline.ng, the Head of Corporate Communications, Innoson Vehicles Manufacturing (IVM), Mr. Cornel Osigwe, the CEO during the visit conducted the Minister and his entourage on a tour of the plant’s construction sites and ongoing vehicle manufacturing processes. The Minister expressed his admiration for Dr. Chukwuma’s expertise and ingenuity in producing Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicles, which aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s directive to replace petrol cars with CNG vehicles.

The Minister praised the benefits of CNG vehicles, including their low operating cost, elimination of noise, low maintenance cost, and non-contamination of motor oil. He promised to share his experience with the President and also the Presidential committee on CNG implementation.

The CEO, Dr. Chukwuma, appreciated the Minister’s visit and acknowledged his support for the company’s mission to produce durable and eco-friendly vehicles. He further emphasized that the new CNG plant can produce over 30,000 buses per annum.

The Minister’s visit highlights the government’s commitment to supporting indigenous companies and promoting sustainable energy solutions in Nigeria.
