Daniel Bwala, a lawyer who supported Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate in the 2023 election, has demanded that Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike be fired immediately.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, Bwala made the appeal in response to the Rivers lawmakers’ scheme to remove State Governor Simi Fubara from office after a falling out with Wike.

Following a fire on Sunday, the governor had gone to the Assembly complex on Monday morning. However, security personnel opened fire on him and used tear gas.

Bwala stated in a post on X that Fubara should use his executive authority to drive Wike out of the country because the nation’s democracy does not tolerate authoritarianism.

The adviser to Atiku also urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to exercise caution around Wike before he damages the reputation of his administration both domestically and globally.

He wrote: “Sim Fubara should use the full weight of his executive powers to run Wike out of town. Our democracy does not recognize authoritarianism. The person voted as the executive Governor and Chief security officer of Rivers State is Fubara. @officialABAT is urged to be extremely careful with Wike before Wike ruins his government’s image both locally and internationally. PBAT should sack Wike without delay”
