FG to Import €1.2 Million Equipment for Eko Bridge Rehabilitation

Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, recently announced the need to import construction equipment worth €1.2 million to facilitate the rehabilitation of this crucial bridge. The Minister also highlighted the challenges faced by the Third Mainland Bridge, constructed in two sections 60 years ago. As part of this comprehensive infrastructure strategy, work is underway to address these challenges. The completion date for the rehabilitation of the Eko Bridge is set for 2024, with a concerted effort to increase the workforce and equipment on the site. These measures will expedite the rehabilitation process and restore the bridge to optimal working condition.

Minister Umahi emphasized that the Eko Bridge plays a pivotal role in facilitating the movement of goods and people between the Lagos Mainland and the Island.
