Ralph Uwazuruike, the founder of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), has made allegations against the military, accusing them of kidnapping four of his security guards. Uwazuruike claims that military personnel invaded his country home in Onuimo Local Government of Imo State and abducted the security guards on Sunday night.

According to a statement from Chris Mocha, the Director of Information for Uwazuruike, the military’s actions were unprovoked, and no explanation was given for the abduction. Uwazuruike has appealed to the Commander of 32 Artillery Brigade, Obinze, near Owerri, to ensure the release of his security personnel.

Uwazuruike emphasized that the members of BIM-MASSOB (Biafra Independent Movement – Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra) have maintained a peaceful approach to their agitation for Biafra and have not been implicated in any security reports.

In response, the Army spokesman, Joseph Akubo, stated that soldiers do not engage in kidnapping but only arrest individuals of questionable character. He also pointed out that other sister security agencies, such as the Navy and Air Force, wear uniforms similar to the army.

This situation highlights the ongoing tensions in the region and the complex interactions between various security forces and pro-Biafra groups like MASSOB. Further details may emerge as the investigation into this incident continues.
