From December 2 to 6, 2023, certain areas of Anambra State in South East Nigeria will have a five-day power outage, as declared by the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company Plc (EEDC).

The blackout is the result of scheduled maintenance on the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) facility in the state, according to a statement released by the EEDC and signed by its Head of Corporate Communications, Emeka Ezeh.

Ezeh claims that the maintenance will have an impact on the GCM station’s 60MVA power transformer, which provides energy to a few feeders in the Onitsha and Ogbaru districts.
