BUA Chairman, Rabiu Rejects APC’s Appointment as Member of Finance Committee

Abdul Samad Rabiu, the chairman of BUA Group, has turned down the invitation to join the All Progressives Congress (APC) standing committee on finance.

In a statement released on Friday, BUA Group said that Rabiu’s hectic schedule and dedication to remaining apolitical were the driving forces for the decision.

The statement acknowledged Rabiu’s commitment to Nigeria’s economic progress and prosperity and thanked the APC for considering him for the position.

It did, however, highlight the fact that Abdul Samad and BUA Group have continuously upheld an apolitical position, which is fundamental to the nature of their enterprise and is compatible with Rabiu’s emphasis on fostering economic progress through business ventures and charitable endeavours through ASR Africa.

According to the statement, he decided not to accept the appointment because of two things: first, he wasn’t consulted beforehand about being added to the list, and second, his busy schedule prevented him from dedicating enough time for the appointment.

The BUA Group reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to advancing Nigeria through strategic investments in the economy and philanthropy, even in the face of declining the political appointment. He stated that these endeavours will remain his primary means of fostering positive societal change, independent of political involvement.
