Abia PDP, Ahiwe Reacts After Alex Otti Won At Appeal Court

In response to the ruling by the appeals court that confirmed Alex Otti as the legitimately elected governor of Abia State, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in that state has responded.

Okey Ahiwe, the PDP’s governor candidate, advised his followers to maintain composure in the face of the “eclipse of transitional sunset.”

PDP said it was meeting with its candidate and his running mate to analyse the ruling and determine the best course of action in a statement signed by Abraham Amah, vice chairman and acting publicity secretary in Abia.

The PDP called for unity among its members and supporters in the wake of the defeat, even as it reiterated its faith in the judiciary as the final resort for the average person and one of the most powerful pillars of our democracy.

“We call on members of the PDP, our numerous supporters and sympathisers and the good people of Abia State to remain steadfast, calm, peaceful, law abiding and put our hope and trust in God and in the judiciary as we explore the options available to us,” it said.

The PDP vowed to never give up on the state’s citizens, claiming that they had suffered during Alex Otti’s leadership.
