UPDATE: UBA Wins African Bank of the Year Award at 2023 Bankers Awards

African Bank of the Year at the 2023 Bankers Awards, presented by The Banker Magazine, a Financial Times subsidiary, went to United Bank for Africa Plc (UBA). UBA has already triumphed twice in the last three years.

In addition, UBA Group won nine honours overall during the function, including Bank of the Year in eight of the twenty African nations in which it conducts business. UBA Cameroon, UBA Chad, UBA Ghana, UBA Cote d’Ivoire, UBA Mozambique, UBA Congo, UBA Sierra Leone, and UBA Tanzania are the subsidiaries that emerged victorious.

Oliver Alawuba, Group Managing Director of UBA, expressed thanks for the distinction and stressed that the awards show the bank’s steadfast dedication to excellence. According to Alawuba, “UBA is honoured to be named the Bank of the Year in these eight countries and to receive the overall Award for Africa.”
