The chief executives of Nigeria’s aviation agencies, FAAN, NAMA, NCAA, and NiMET, have been relieved by Bola Tinubu.
The dismissals were announced on Wednesday in a statement released by the presidential spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale.
There are new names on the list for top positions in these agencies.

According to Ngelale, the replacements were made “with the aim of advancing the well-being of Nigerian passengers and various stakeholders within the Civil Aviation sector and establishing world-class standards for consumer protection.”
Mr. Kabir Yusuf Mohammed has been replaced as the Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) by Mrs. Olubunmi Oluwaseun Kuku.
This is a part of a bigger restructure that led to the reassignment of several significant positions under the purview of the ministry.
Mr. Tayib Adetunji Odunowo has been replaced as the head of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) by Engineer Umar Ahmed Farouk.
Similarly, following the departure of Engineer Akinola Olateru, Alex Badeh Jr. has been named the new Director-General of the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB).
Operators Knocks Aviation Union Over Protests
Prof. Charles Anosike has taken over as the Nigerian Meteorological Agency’s (NiMET) formal director-general, replacing Prof. Mansur Bako Matazu.
Last but not least, the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT) has appointed Mr. Joseph Shaka Imalighwe as Acting Rector.
He will hold this position until Capt. Alkali Mahmud Modibbo is replaced as permanent rector in accordance with Section 13(2) of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology Act, 2022.
