Terrorists Return To Abuja As They Invade Estate, Kidnap 10

On Sunday night, a group of terrorists masquerading as herders broke into Sagwari Layout Estate in Dutse, which is on the edge of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in the Bwari Area Council.

According to Vanguard, after capturing eight of the inhabitants, the kidnappers went on to kidnap two employees from a neighbouring hotel.

Around seven thirty in the evening, masked robbers broke into the property and led their victims to the hills behind the house.

Bandits Close In On Abuja As Fear Grips Residents

An eyewitness claimed that there was fierce opposition to efforts by estate security and other security forces to apprehend the kidnappers.

Armed with more weapons than anyone could have imagined, the terrorists blasted from their advantageous positions above the hills.

Residents in Abuja, especially those in Ushafa, Bwari, and the surrounding regions, were reassured of their safety over the weekend by the FCT Police Command.

The purpose of the additional police officers’ deployment was to proactively address any security threats in the area.

Ushafa, which is only five minutes away from the Dutse estate, was mentioned especially in the guarantee.

In response to reports of kidnapping attacks, CP Haruna Garba, the Commissioner of the Federal Capital Territory Police, visited Bwari last Wednesday to evaluate the security situation.

A pastor from the Redeemed Christian Church of God was killed and thirteen people were kidnapped on December 24, when gunmen raided the Garam village, which is a short drive from Bwari.

Kuduru in the Federal Capital Territory saw a bandit incursion on December 28, which resulted in the abduction of eighteen people.
