Siminalayi Fubara, the governor of Rivers State, has credited divine intervention through his party for his ascent to power and ultimate victory in his current political endeavours.

In order to win the election, Fubara stressed that he was first pushed forward by God, who then moved the leaders and constituents of his political party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to agree to nominate him for governor.

At the Redeemed Christian Church of God’s 2024 Port Harcourt Holy Ghost Rally, held at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Igwuruta Ali in the Ikwerre Local Government Area, the governor made the remarks.

“I was promoted by God first, through my party and the leaders,” the governor stated in a statement signed by Senior Special Advisor to the Governor, Boniface Onyedi. Thus, promotion comes from God and God alone.

“Let me take the theme of the rally to be a personal gift from RCCG because the theme is not different from my story.

“I have a thanksgiving in my place where I will return this wonderful success in thanksgiving to the only person (God) who will make it permanent and forever.”

Fubara gave special thanks to Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, for his devotion to Rivers State.

He asked the congregation to keep up its prayers for his administration in order to fulfil the goal of government.
