Peter Obi Awards Full Scholarship to keke Rider, See Why

The Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has given a fully funded scholarship up to the Ph.D. level to Awwalu Salisu, a 23-year-old commercial tricyclist from Kano.

After recovering a substantial amount of N15 million that a Chadian businessman had left in his tricycle back in 2023, Awwalu became well-known.

Peter Obi, who praised Awwalu’s honesty, made the scholarship announcement during the Leadership Awards ceremony.

Obi revealed, “Forthright, I have consulted with my young brother, Datti Baba Ahmed, and I know there will be other things coming from big men who are here. However, for us, your education, including tuition, accommodation, and feeding until you graduate, will be taken care of by Baze University.”

Following his statement that the Labour Party cannot be allowed to overshadow the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Niger State Governor Mohammed Umar Bago announced that Awwalu will get a N250 million scholarship in recognition of his act of integrity and to inspire other young Nigerians to emulate the virtue.

Bago continued by saying he would give the Kano Keke rider’s name to one of the road projects he was working on in Niger State.
