Islamic cleric Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, who is located in Kaduna, has said that he had a positive conversation with Nigerian security personnel after they called him to talk about security-related issues.
Sheikh Gumi has been contacted by security services, Mohammed Idris, Minister of Information and National Orientation, told reporters at the State House in Abuja on Monday.
Sheikh Gumi posted a message on his Facebook page after accepting the invitation from the security agencies on Monday, stating that only the innocent are above the law and that he is not.

Reassuring the public that they shouldn’t be alarmed, he stressed that his conversation with the security staff was fruitful.
“Last night I got many frantic calls from well-wishers and journalists about a news item that I was interviewed by security. There is no cause for alarm.
“Yes, we had a productive interaction on how to curb banditry as we are all trying -each in his sphere – to tackle the monster bedeviling the nation. There was no animosity but courtesy and full of respect.
“We all need as a nation to unite and work in synergy to achieve an everlasting peace. Thank you for your concern. May Allah continue to protect us all from all evil. Amin,” Mr Gumi wrote after meeting with the security agents.
