After his ward executives reversed his alleged suspension, former Kano State governor Abdullahi Ganduje claims he is still the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, or APC.

According to the report, Ganduje’s suspension was lifted on Thursday by Justice A. M. Liman of the Federal High Court located in Kano.

In addition, the court prohibited all respondents and their representatives from carrying out the decisions made during the APC executive meeting that took place in the Ganduje Ward of Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area on April 15, 2024, while the suit filed by Ganduje to enforce his fundamental rights was being decided and heard.

While making a decision on a motion ex parte that Ganduje had filed to enforce his fundamental right to a fair trial, Justice Liman issued the order.

As he responded to the news, Ganduje thanked the Ganduje Ward ward officials and party executive members for separating themselves from the alleged scheme to remove him from the position of leadership and membership in the party.

He ascribed the event to Governor Abba Yusuf of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), who intended to undermine the APC in the state in advance of the general election of 2027 and future elections.

The APC national chairman said, “In fact, what is happening is that it is an incursion into our political party by the NNPP government of Kano in order to destroy our party.

“They are so concerned that in their first year in office, they have seen their failures right from the destruction of the economy of Kano State to increased political violence in and also destruction of political morality in Kano State.”
