UPDATE: Kwankwaso Betrayed My Trust – NNPP’s Aniebonam

The attempt by Rabiu Kwankwaso and the Kwankwasiyya Movement to seize control of the party structure, according to NNPP founder Boniface Aniebonam, is a violation of trust.

At a press conference on Friday in Lagos, Aniebonam stated as much. He also added that he provided Kwankwaso with the party’s platform to fulfil his political dream of becoming Nigeria’s president on a silver platter.

Aniebonam claimed that from 2002 to 2022, he registered and cultivated the NNPP on his own, and that’s when Kwankwaso and his group asked him to represent the party in the 2023 presidential contest.

“Buba Galadima led the delegation, including Sen. Suleiman Hunkuyi and Prof. Sam Angai to my country home in Anambra to plead for us to accept Kwankwaso in the NNPP.

“After the talks, I placed a call to Kwankwaso and after asking him questions about his intentions for Nigeria, I offered him the platform of NNPP as its sole candidate,” he said.

According to Aniebonam, he started the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders, or NAGAFF, first. As a result, NAGAFF is the organisation that is father to NNPP.

Remembering that Kwankwaso and several others had been kicked out of the party for anti-party activities, he said he would pardon Kwankwaso provided he abstained from what he was doing because he was a life member of the board and had inherent rights.

The founder of the NNPP declared that, even in the unlikely event that Kwankwaso were to be pardoned, he would no longer be eligible to run as the party’s sole candidate.
