The controversy over the story, “How Gbajabiamila attempted to corner $30bn, 66 houses traced to Sabiu,” prompted First News management to apologise to Gbajabiamila.

Olatunji wrote in his resignation letter that he hoped the situation’s true nature will eventually surface.

Additionally, he demanded that First Media Network Limited’s management pay him his unpaid salary—which reportedly total one year—as soon as possible.

Olatunji stated, ”In view of the latest development regarding the Gbajabiamila story and the stance of the company’s Management, I hereby tender my resignation as the General Editor of First News.

”It has become imperative for me to resign my appointment for the safety of my person and my family.
