All of Rivers State Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike’s commissioners and chief of staff have been fired.
The governor has disbanded the State Executive Council with effect from Tuesday, May 24, 2022, according to a statement from his media assistant Kelvin Ebiri.
The governor’s Chief of Staff and Senior Special Assistant (Protocol) have both been fired.

“His Excellency, Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, commends the members the Rivers State Executive Council for their service and contribution to the development of the State. He has also wished them the best in all their future endeavours.”
As a result, Governor Wike has directed all previous State Executive Council members to give over to the most senior officers in their respective ministries.
All impacted personnel have been instructed to give over to their respective ministries’ most senior executives.
