A conflict has developed inside the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the general elections in 2023 due to the makeup of the presidential national campaign council list.
According to information obtained by Anaedoonline.ng, the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) is dissatisfied with the position that was given to them in the council.
Major directorate posts in the council are reportedly held by supporters of the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, according to a source who talked with Newsmen.

This comes after Tinubu gave the party’s leadership the list of the presidential campaign council members earlier this week.
The source said that when the three-man committee of the party, which included the National Legal Adviser, the National Organising Secretary, and the Deputy Women Leader, realized that Tinubu’s camp was represented on the council, their meeting with the DG came to a standstill.
The names of the prospective national officers were reportedly granted “only insignificant membership positions” in the council.
The source added that the party’s NWC had asked for the particular directorate.

The insider said that despite being asked, the presidential candidate’s camp insisted on running the directorate and giving the party’s top brass only roles.
The source noted that the National Chairman of the party, Abdullahi Adamu had requested the inclusion of the following persons into the council.
The source said, “They are the two Deputy National Chairmen (North and South), National Secretary, National Organizing Secretary, Deputy National Organising Secretary, National Publicity Secretary, National Woman Leader, National Youth Leader, and the National Leader on People with Disabilities.”
However, the source claimed that the NWC was taken aback when they arrived at the conference and saw that Tinubu’s camp dominated the list.

The party’s three-person harmonisation committee is scheduled to meet with the council’s DG once again on Monday.
