In advance of the 2023 election, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has denied tampering with the voter list.

The Continuous Voter Registration (CVR), which started in January, was finished by the electoral umpire on July 31.

Festus Okoye, the INEC’s Director of Information and Voter Education, reported on Thursday that no new registrants had been added.

Following a press conference by the Coalition of United Political Parties, INEC responded (CUPP).

“No new registrant has yet been added to the Register of Voters for the 2023 General Election”, Okoye stressed.

The commission is cleaning up the Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS) by carefully reviewing each record, the spokesman revealed.

According to Section 10 of the Electoral Act of 2022, any record that does not match all the requirements for inclusion would be discarded.
