Enock Mwepu Has Been Named As Brighton’s Academy Coach

Enock Mwepu has been named coach of Brighton’s Under-9s after retiring as a player at the age of 24 due to a heart problem.

Enock Mwepu, a former Zambian international, played for Brighton but had to retire at the age of 24 owing to a hereditary cardiac disease.
He spent the majority of his career with RB Salzburg until joining the Premier League club in the summer of 2021 for a cost of €23 million.
Since he can no longer play football, he has decided to pursue a coaching career and has begun his new chapter as Brighton’s under 9’s academy coach, remaining with the club that propelled him to the Premier League.

Brighton’s Mwepu Retires From Active Football Due To Heart Issues

He was called “the computer” as a nickname during his childhood and playing time because of his intelligence while playing ball.

He was the Captain of the “Chipolopolo boys” Zambian national team before his retirement.

Although his career time was cut short he believes in God always and still looking at focusing on a new plan for his future as a coach.
