The Traditional Ruler of Nnewi, His Royal Highness, Igwe Dr. Kenneth Onyemeke Orizu (III), will on 28th of December, 2020, confer the prestigious Nnewi Traditional Chieftaincy Title on the Former Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Prof. Kingsley Chiedu Moghalu.
Anaedoonline.ng gathered that the conferment of the Chieftaincy Title on Prof. Moghalu is part of the activities lined up to mark the 57th Ofala of His Royal Highness, Igwe Kenneth Orizu.
Although the name of the title is yet to be known at the time of writing, Prof. Kingsley Chiedu Moghalu who is also a lawyer and former United Nations official, is one of the outstanding sons of Nnewi. He is one of the sons of Late Isaac Moghalu, from Akaboezem Community in Uruagu Nnewi.
He is married to Mrs Maryanne Onyinyechi Moghalu who hails from Mbosi, Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State.
During his time in Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), it was said that he attracted Five Hundred Million Naira for the building of the Permanent Site of Nnamdi Azikiwe Teaching Hospital, Nnewi.
During the recent Covid-19 lockdown, he distributed food items worth millions to the less privileged in Nnewi.
He has continued to urge the federal government to make Nnewi a manufacturing hub of Nigeria.
