Melie Onyejepu Unveils Governor Obiano’s Plans For Nnewi.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Budget Monitoring and Efficiency, Hon. Sir Melie Onyejepu, has assured Nnewi residents of more government presence.

Speaking during the weekend while commissioning the 500 KVA 33 line Transformer in Uru Community, Umudim Nnewi, Hon. Melie Onyejepu said that the development of Nnewi is top on the agenda of the Governor Willie Obiano administration.

Speaking about the Governor’s plans, he said, “We have alot of projects going on in Nnewi, we have the 6bn erosion project ongoing in Nnewichi, the Governor is already intervening in the 100-foot road erosion site, through engaging a construction company for palliative work”

“There are many roads currently ongoing, the Umennem Otolo Nnewi to Okigwe, the asphalting Nnewi Hotel road will soon commence, the Nnewi urban water scheme will soon get the intervention of the World bank through the Watch Program, so that the water will be reticulated, the Governor will soon reactivate the Amuko Water Scheme because the government has been working there, what is remaining is the reticulating and metering”

Continuing, he said, “The Governor has mandated Anambra State Road Maintenance Agency to rehabilitate roads in Nnewi, the Governor is working on putting more street lights in Nnewi, the Nkwo to Nkwo Street light is already lit, the ones in Nnewichi is working, the one from Roundabout to Beverly hills is already on, we are trying to connect Beverly Hills to Eme Court, we have many projects coming up”.
