Residents were yesterday left distraught after a heavy downpour in Mbanakwu community, Otolo Nnewi caused a flood that prevented the free flow of traffic. The rain which fell for the major part of the day, caused severe flooding on the major roads leading to the community, thereby creating an impasse.
Motorists and passersby were seen walking carefully to avoid an accident, leading to heavy traffic along the road.
According to reports, no life was lost nor property damaged.

However, with rainfall not reducing anytime soon, it still remains a cause for concern what will be of the road as the drainage system along the road remains blocked.
