The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has cleared the air on the alleged freezing of bank accounts belonging to the Adelekes last week.
The allegation which was made and corroborated in several quarters of the media, stating that the accounts were frozen as a form of a witch-hunt against the candidacy of Senator Jackson Adeleke in the forth-coming Osun governorship election.
In a series of tweets made on the official account of the EFCC, the commission advised against the purveyors of fake news.

For the avoidance of doubt, at no time did the EFCC place a freeze order on any account belonging to members of the Adeleke family.
