Frontline APGA hopeful for Nnewi North House of Assembly Comrade Okafor Nonso Smart has berated its co-aspirant Dr Obinna Ngonadi on its poor negative campaign of calumny against his person. In a Press statement personally signed by Comrade Smart and released by his media team, Smart emphatically told Ngonadi that “God is the giver of power and He freely gives it to whosoever He deems fit. If God has willed that I will represent my people, it will surely come to pass. A thousand petitions or a well-orchestrated campaign of calumny can’t stop God’s will”

AnaedoOnline understands that Dr Obinna Ngonadi wrote a petition to the screening committee to disqualify Okafor Nonso Smart on the basis that Smart engages in anti-party activities. According to reliable sources to AnaedoOnline, the screening committee told Smart to respond to Ngonadi letter on his anti-party activities and Smart told them the accusation has no basis that everyone knows he has been a strong APGA faithful but nevertheless, that they should do their investigation and see if it has any element of truth.

Furthermore AnaedoOnline is in possession of an article personally signed by Ngonadi and being shared across different social media platforms by Ngonadi media handlers which equally has the same accusations contained in the letter sent to the screening panel. Ngonadi had in the said article said “ NNEWI NORTH: BEWARE OF THE VOICE OF JACOB AND THE HANDS OF ESAU. It has become pertinent in this last lap and critical time to draw the attention of the good people of Ndi NNEWI North to the growing numbers of political jobbers and shenanigans masquerading as true democrat and patriots of Apga. Dear Jacob of NNEWI North, We are not suffering from collective amnesia. We have not forgotten you tantrums and your fierce opposition against our dear party in the previous elections”

MY BROTHER WHY

Why do the heathen rage and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. Psalms 2:1-4

Ever since I entered this race, I have conducted my campaign with utmost sense of decency and decorum. I have restrained myself and my team not to engage any of my co-aspirants in any form of attack whatsoever no matter the provocation. I have related with all my co-aspirants cordially and have encouraged them when need be not to give up on their ambition, that whoever wins is a win for our people. All this I did because I believe in the principle of politics without bitterness.

I therefore wonder why my brother – Obinna will now go petty by writing frivolous things against my person in a bid to get me disqualified. My brother why will you write lies in a petition against me to the Screening Panel all to disqualify me. As if the concocted petitions were not enough, you even went further ahead yesterday morning through your media handlers to launch another attack in an article filled with tissues of lies and calling me unprintable names all in an effort to get the party faithful’s hate me.

My brother choosing to trade this path of dishonor indicates a desperation to win at all cost no matter whose ox is gored. I therefore urge you to trade carefully and be nice to people on your way up because you will meet them on your way down. This election will come and go but we remain brothers.

I urge you to see this race as the race to bring quality representation to Ndi Nnewi and not the race to stop Smart.

God is the giver of power and He freely gives it to whosoever He deems fit. If God has willed that I will represent my people, it will surely come to pass. A thousand petitions or a well-orchestrated campaign of calumny can’t stop God’s will.
