HOW FACEBOOK LOVER ROBBED FRIEND OF CAR, VALUABLES

The police patrol team, in collaboration with the vigilante group, has successfully recovered a 2011 Toyota RAV-4 jeep with registration number Lagos KTU 311DV. The vehicle, along with other valuable items, was stolen at gunpoint from a resident named Ekezie Somuto, who resides at Oganiru Estate Complex in Awka.

Somuto had on Tuesday, October 30th, reported at Ogidi Police Station that his Facebook friend, one Sandra surname unknown, of no fixed address, aged about 22 years, fair in complexion, lured him to come to St. Vincent Primary School, Ogidi, where he was allegedly robbed at gunpoint by three unknown gunmen, who made away with his car and other valuable items.

Anaedooline gathered that following the report, men of the Nigerian police from Ogidi Police Station with the help of a local vigilante, swung into action and recovered the stolen vehicle in a bush at Ogidi; while the robbers took to their heels.

Police source said the items have been handed over to the owner; while efforts are ongoing to apprehend fleeing suspects.

The Anambra State Police spokesman, Haruna Mohammed, reacting to the development in a release made available to newsmen in Awka, implored members of the public to be wary of whom they relate with especially, Facebook friends, in order not to fall victim to fraudsters and armed robbers.

In a related development, police detectives attached to Awada Division also recovered a Lexus 300 Jeep with Registration number FGG 353 GF, snatched at gunpoint from one Brendam Dike of Orifite Street, Awada; while the suspects escaped.

Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects.
