UCHE EKWUNIFE DUMPS APC FOR PDP
Anambra Rainbow Coalition says their support for Senator Uche Ekwunife remains unwavering even after her defection to the PDP.
Ekwunife is welcomed back to the PDP by a party chieftain, Ugochukwu Okeke, who said that the party is open to anybody.
Seventeen political parties have declared their support for Senator Uche Ekwunife, who recently dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The group, under the aegis of Anambra Rainbow Coalition on Monday, November 12, said their support for Senator Uche Ekwunife remains unwavering even after her defection to the PDP.
“We are members of seventeen political parties in the state known as the Rainbow Coalition.
Ekwunife is our candidate and we know that she can win in any political party,”a spokesperson for the group, Elder Philip Umezinwa said.
Ekwunife, a former PDP member had defected to the APC, then, back to the PDP.
Unconfirmed reports recently emerged that Ekwunife had dumped the APC for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) but no official confirmation about the reported defection.
Ugochukwu Okeke, a PDP chieftain has however confirmed that Ekwunife had returned to the party.
He said: “There are very strong indications that Ekwunife has joined our party, the PDP and I can tell you on good authority that she has already been welcomed back into our family.
“Our party is open to anybody and we do not chase people away from the party. You know she was our member and she won the last election under our party.”
