2019: APGA RULES OUT ALLIANCE WITH ANY POLITICAL PARTY

The Special Adviser to Governor Willie Obiano on Political Matters, Chief Ifeatu Obi-Okoye, and the Vice Chairman  of the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA in the Anambra South Senatorial District, Chief Titus Anigbogu, said that the party will not enter into an alliance with any other political party before the February 16th presidential election in 2019.

The duo stated this while featuring in the latest edition of ABS News and Current Affairs Radio and Television programme, “Face The Press” in Awka.

According to them, APGA will only consider an accord with other political parties if no clear winner emerged after the Presidential election and a run-off became absolutely necessary.

Chiefs Obi-Okoye, a lawyer; and Titus Anigbogu, expressed optimism that APGA will win convincingly in the governorship elections in Abia, Imo, Zamfara and Nasarawa States; in addition to making great impacts in Benue, Taraba and other states in the Middle Belt and Southern Regions.

They noted that signing into law of a new Electoral Act by President Muhammadu Buhari less than three months to the general elections might cause confusion and vitiate the primary elections already conducted by political parties based on the existing electoral act.

Chiefs Obi-Okoye and Anigbogu also explained that the on-going reconciliation effort with aggrieved party faithful over the outcome of the recent APGA primaries is yielding positive results.
