BASHIR EL RUFAI APOLOGIES FOR CALLING OJUKWU A FAILURE

Controversial son of Kaduna State Governor, Bashir El Rufai has taken to his twitter handle to apologize for his earlier inappropriate tweets aimed at the Late Dim Emeka Odumegwu Ojukwu

Bashir who like his father, Nasir El Rufai is not new to controversy especially towards the Igbos, with the latest coming from Bashir in an unprovoked discussion on twitter. Let’s not forget that Nasir had made a mockery of Christianity in 2013, which got serious bashing from CAN and was made to apologise as well

Bashir got seemingly annoyed for mistaking Ojukwu’s hometown to be Enugu instead of Nnewi. When he got called out and ridiculed by people on twitter, he took it personally and branded Ojukwu a failed leader who only cared about self preservation

“Knowing your failed hero’s homeland that plunged misguided idiots into a civil war and ran away is not my concern. You do your research and find out his hometown.

I could care less for the man. And he will forever remain a dent in our history.

Don’t cry please. Your hero was a failure that ran away when he saw imminent defeat. Get out of here.” said Bashir, son of Nasir El Rufai

However, this generated serious heat and bashing from Nigerians across every region and State which forced him to make an apology

“I regret my words. I erred. And I must apologize to my brethren of other ethnic backgrounds, especially our Igbos whom I truly admire and respect on the basis of their vast history. As for my Yorubas, we be 1 now, always have.

I am learning to be more sensitive on such issues.” Bashir said.

This will not go down well with the Igbos in the State but adds fuel to the fire which Nasir started by refusing a Christian as his running mate, claiming that he knows the Christians in Kaduna will not vote him, so he cannot waste his time on them

The El Rufais are Pro-Buhari and it will only left to be seen how things will pan out after the Presidential elections in February
