The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), on Wednesday flag off Governorship campaign in Benue State with the promise to raise 300, 000 millionaires at the end of four years.

Governorship candidate of the party in the state, John Aondohemba Tseayo, who disclosed this at the campaign flag off in Ushongo town, north eastern part of the state said his government will support farmers for the production of three key crops namely, cassava, soybeans and sesame.

“I have discovered that farming brings a lot of money in returns. Our brother Aper Aku, the first Executive Governor of Benue State recognized this when he was thw Governor and created farm development centers. I will revisit that programme when you vote me in as your Governor.

“My government will ensure that you have value for your farm produce. My government will provide support by way of providing farm input and machinery so that our people will move away from primitive way of farming to mechanized farming.

“And after harvest, government will buy up the produce and by so doing, we would be helping in price control,” Tseayo explained.

According to Tseayo, through agriculture, his government will have money sufficient to ensure free and compulsory education for primary and secondary education as well as improved healthcare delivery, which would be made free for the old, pregnant women and under-five children.

“My government will invest in healthcare delivery so pregnant women, the aged and children of fewer than five years old will be attended to at no cost,” Tseayo said.

He also talked of vocational and technical education to empower youth with skills so that they are self-reliant.

Ungraded chiefs in Benue state are the first point of call in resolving local disputes and in spite of their role in peace building and security; they receive no incentives from government. To this group, Tseayo said when elected as Governor, he will work to ensure that they are placed on government pay roll.

The APGA Governorship candidate said decayed infrastructure and institutions amidst poverty have moved him to contest for the number one job in the Nigeria’s Food Basket State and called for support to win the election.
