So Soon? Anger In Anambra State House Of Assembly

Members of the Anambra state House of Assembly, who were inaugurated on June 12, 2019, are not happy with Gov Obiano and may move against the Speaker, Rt Hon Uche Okafor as the only means of expressing their anger.

Investigation reveals that most of the house members elected on the platform of APGA can no longer afford their basic needs.

It was also discovered that most of the house members elected on the platform of APGA are borrowing money to survive and feed their families. These assembly members have not being paid 30 days after they were inaugurated.

They are yet to receive any allowance from the executive arm of the govt.

Their wardrobe and furniture allowances are yet to be paid. The Assembly is so broke that even the overhead allowance is being owed.

AIF Media gathered that most of the new house members borrowed money to prosecute their election. Many of them are paying heavy interests on the loans. The interests have accumulated due to their inability to pay back.

Further investigation shows that about 24 house of Assembly members elected on the platform of APGA are currently at the tribunal. Many of them no longer have money to keep to the momentum.

AIF Media learned that gov Obiano promised to procure official cars for them immediately after their inauguration on June 12, but the official cars are yet to be delivered one month after.

The house members now avoid public functions as they are so broke to attend to the needs of their supporters.

AIF Media authoritatively gathered that the house members are equally angry that the Speaker, Rt Hon Uche Okafor follows Governor Obiano to all functions like a mere aide, and has not done anything to demand for their benefits.

A source told AIF Media that many of the house members could take the opportunity of the current leadership crisis in APGA to decamp to opposition as it has become increasingly obvious that the party will lose 2021 governorship election.

They are also of the opinion that being in opposition would afford them the opportunity to speak out and openly fight for their welfare.

The Speaker may lose the support of his colleagues except he rises to the occasion and fights for the welfare of the house members.
