NYSC To Partner With ICPC In The Mobilization Of Corps Members

National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) will be partnering with the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offenses Commission (ICPC) for the enrollment of corps member.

The NYSC and the ICPC will also be ensuring that Nigerian graduates mobilized for national service are genuine.

According to the NYSC, the scheme recently uncovered that some unqualified persons were mobilized for national service. The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC) will be partnering to ensure that Nigerian graduates mobilized for national service are genuine.

During a courtesy call by the director general of the NYSC, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim, at the ICPC Headquarters, Abuja, he revealed that the scheme recently uncovered that some unqualified persons were mobilized for national service. Ibrahim also sought for cooperation to curb the practice where individuals who are not graduates are enrolled for the programme.

In his reaction, the chairman of ICPC, Bolaji Owasanoye, said the anti-graft agency will collaborate with the NYSC for an effective mobilization process of all institutions that produce genuine corps members.

”I see NYSC as a great institution that no one should take for granted,” Owasanoye said. “I, therefore, give you my word that we shall work together to ensure those who are involved in the ungodly act are apprehended and sanctioned,” the ICPC chairman added.

Meanwhile, anaedoonline.ng previously reported that the NYSC had been urged by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to help it in curbing crimes rate among graduates.

The NYSC said the scheme recently uncovered that some unqualified persons were mobilized for national service.
