“We Begged God To Remove Ohuabunwa And Give Us Kalu” – Arochukwu Voters
This was made known by Arochukwu APC, L.G.A chairman, Hon. John Ikechukwu Okorie, during the APC Constituency meeting held at the home of the Senate Chief Whip, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, in his Igbere country home.
Okorie said : “Before the 2019 election, we the people of Arochukwu LGA, in Abia North, Abia State prayed and asked the Almighty God to remove Senator Mao Ohuabunwa and give us Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, to represent us at the Senate”.
It was reported that this is the first constituency meeting held in Abia North, since after the general election.
Thanking God for making it possible for their candidate to emerge victorious after the 2019 election, Mr. Okorie, said it’s a fight well fought.

According to him, they prayed to God to remove the then sitting senator, Mr. Ohuabunwa because they weren’t feeling the impacts of his representative.
“God did it for us, our prayers were answered, it’s been a fight well fought. We prayed to God to remove Mao for us and give us someone who understands the problem of his people in the person of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu”, Mr. Okorie added.
Responding, the former Abia State governor, Senator Orji Kalu, applauded the ward party leaders for their steadfastness and their hard work. He urged them to always embrace love and do away with hatred, according to him, it’s one of the mechanisms that can lead Nigeria forward towards development.
“Election is over, let’s start working for the growth of Nigeria. I implore you all to love one and another, let’s unite and embrace one another, irrespective of political parties”.
“Stop the hatred. That is the worst thing to do. It’s what caused a problem in Rwanda. Rwanda fought a war nobody believed but today they are a great nation because they have realized themselves. So you people should remove hatred among political partners, hatred among religious beliefs, hatred among brothers and sisters, hatred among village and village and imbibe love so that we can move forward.
“You people can learn a lot from me. People who have wronged me, people who have done all kinds of things against me, I paid them back with love” Senator Kalu said.
The meeting was attended by the LGA, Chairmen, Ward Chairmen, Secretary, Youth leaders and Party Women leaders across Abia North.
