Igbo Farmers demands Security Measures from Government

The Igbo farmers under the umbrella of Igbo Famers Progressive Union (IPFU), has called for the enactment of anti-open grazing law in five states of the South-East to give the mandate of the forest guards a legal backing to tackle herdsmen menace in the zone.

This was contained in a statement the farmers issued on Tuesday and signed by Chief Maxi Okwu and Uchenna Nnadi, preterm chairman and secretary respectively.

IPFU said as a new face of Igbo farmers, it had resolved to “modernize farming methods and production; committed to the protection of our land, farms and our people against herdsmen terrorism and expansionist agenda.”
