Legislators Embark On Familiarization Visit To Ministry Of Housing

Anambra State house of Assembly committee on Housing led by its chairman and member representing Dunukofia constituency and chief Whip Lawrence Ezeudu together with the committee members paid a familiarization visit.

Ezeudu while speaking said the essence of the visit is to build a good working relationship and from the first visit today, the ball is set rolling. We are here to identify with the Ministry, which is outlining our cardinal objectives and constitutional responsibility of oversight.

The legislators were received by the Commissioner for Housing Michael Okonkwo. The Commissioner in his introductory remark highlighted the cardinal function of the Ministry, which includes; provision of houses, monitoring of legacy projects and ensuring standard house designs.

While appreciating the lawmakers for their visit emphasized that the state is growing very fast with the influx of both civil servants and public sector’s investors as well as other people. Therefore, there is need for a sustainable housing plan. Okonkwo stated.
