The Executive Chairman, Igboeze South Local Government, Comrade Fidelis Odo has said attributed the successes recorded by his administration to the complete freedom the council has enjoyed in the last two years.
Odo said that the zero interference in the activities of the local government, especially by the State Government has given the council under his watch the courage and opportunity to execute projects that will positively affect the lives of the people.
The LG boss was stated this while playing host to a Coalition of Civil Society Organizations,( CSOs), the Nigerian Labour Congress and the State Council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, (NUJ) who visited the council on a good governance tour.
He said that ever since his administration came on board, the state Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has not in any way meddled in the affairs of the council but rather, he has offered series of advice on how to ensure that democracy dividends truly gets to the people at the grass roots level.
“Unlike in other states, where there are series of complaints about financial constraints , we do not have any problem on our part and we have been able to use the limited resources within our disposal to carry out projects we shall be remembered for” he said.

The council boss who began and has successfully completed a 1.5 Kilometer road with drainage system, with a cost of 200 million, said he had always wanted to step into a position that will allow him touch the lives of his people positively.
He said he has also embarked on several roads grading project which according to him, will help ease vehicular movements within the council as well as ease economic activities.
The council boss who also started and has also completed a 50 million naira “Legacy Lodge” in the Council Headquarters said his decision to come up with the lodge was informed by the need to provide a befitting resting place for dignitaries during special occasions.
He said that a lot has also been achieved in terms of security as the council has successfully procured motorcycles and has also employed over 300 neighborhood watch to complement the efforts of the State Governor who is out to completely purge the state of all criminal activities.
He also said that the council under his watch has put in place a Mediation Centre where citizens can always come to amicable resolve their differences instead of going to court and further strengthening their divides.
“Now, we live in absolute peace because we are able to resolve our conflicts amicable. And that is part of reasons why we are achieving a lot because everyone is happy” he said.
