The Osun State Traditional Rulers’ Council has suspended the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, for six months.
The monarchs reached the decision on Friday at an emergency meeting held at Osun State Government Secretariat, Abere.
Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, presided over the meeting.

Oluwo was suspended over a physical attack on the Agbowu of Ogbagba, Oba Dhikirulahi Olaniran. His action was referred to as despicable and uncharacterised as to be done by a monarch.
Following his action by beating up his fellow monarchs, the residence of the nearby communities took to the streets to demonstrate their anger and frustration about his actions. They matched to the Osun government house, which the state government promised to look into, perhaps which preceded to this action of the traditional rulers to suspend him.
