The governor of Kano State, Umar Ganduje has relaxed the lockdown imposed on the state by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Mr Buhari had on Monday ordered the total lockdown of the state to prevent the spread of Coronavirus disease in the northwest state.
Although he pleaded with the president to relax the lockdown as residents were already being affected economically, we can not confirm independently confirm yet if the order was given to him by the president.

Announcing the relaxation, the governor said only supermarkets whose names will be announced on local radio stations are allowed to open for business.
Ganduje in a statewide broadcast Saturday evening said only Yankaba Market where perishable items are sold would be allowed to operate on Mondays and Thursdays from 10am to 4pm.
He added that the two days will henceforth become lockdown-free days.
The state whose number of coronavirus pandemic disease in its domain has astronomically increased in recent weeks and is now the second most affected state after Lagos state.
The state have also recorded a large number of strange deaths, with over 150 death in a day.
