Four Kidnapped Victims In Delta Regain Freedom

The four men adopted by Suspected Fulani herdsmen last week around Boji Boji Owa in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta state were on Sunday night released after alleged payment of N2million ransom each.

Delta state Police Commissioner, Hafiz Muhammed Inuwah who Confirmed the release of the victims to Journalists in Asaba on Monday, however assured that the police will ensure the Kidnappers are brought to arrest but refused to confirm if ransom was paid.

He said” we have secured the release of the four Victims adopted by Suspected Fulani hersdmen in Boji, Boji Owa metropolis in Ika North East Local Government Area of the state, our team of Policemen at Owa Police Division have been working hard, and successfully ensured the release of the adopted Persons, and as for ransom, the Police is not aware of such”

Sources said that the Victims were subjected to stiffer punishments while in captive in the Kidnappers’ den and were released after allegedly paying N2million ransom each to where the Police found them.

One of the Victims, Sunny Onyejose former Chairman of the All Progressive Congress ( APC) in Ika North East Chapter who spoke to our reporters said:

”We were taken away by some faceless armed men into the bush and we were blindfolded for almost a whole day, all our belongings were collected from us, and they demanded for numbers of our relations, and they started calling them in our presence asking for ransoms, they didn’t give us food but asked us to always look the ground whenever they are talking to us, we suffered for the days we spent in the bush with them”

Onyejose noted that the secenario played out during the incident was not what anyone would wish his enemies, disclosing that the Kidnappers were armed with sophisticated AK47s as they often threatened to kill them whenever they cry for their release.

According to him” suddenly they asked a particular man to carry me on his back with an instruction to start running towards the thick bush, I cannot really explain what happened but I strongly believe our release was divine”

Recall that four persons were last week adopted by Suspected Fulani herdsmen around Boji Boji Owa metropolis at heavily armed gunpoint after which they were taken away with an unknown vehicle without plate number into the bush where they stayed for days before they regained their freedom.

Delta State in the last few months has been under siege of hoodlums, especially Suspected Fulani herdsmen who have allegedly killed many Persons, and raped several housewives either at their farmlands or on the road.

No fewer than 76 Communities in Delta North Senatorial District are currently taking over by these rampaging hoodlums who have also allegedly destroyed their host Communities’ farm Crops worth millions of Naira.
