The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has filed a fresh petition against the Nigerian government and all former heads of states for the roles they played during and after the civil war that claimed the lives of young men of the Igbo extraction known as Biafran Youths.

In the petition read at the plenary session, Kanu urged the United Nations, the United States Department of Security Services and the international community to rise up and stop the atrocities against Ndigbo, and the Christian Communities, especially those residing in northern Nigeria.

A few days ago, former Head of state, Gen. Yakubu Gowon (Rtd) asked Igbos to forgive him, for the role he played during the 3 months civil war that laid the foundation for the challenges the country is facing today.

Nnamdi Kanu also criticized the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo over the letter he wrote to the Inspector General of Police, IGP, on alleged public display of AK-47 assault rifles in Awka, Anambra State by Fulani Herdsmen.

He said, IPOB has already noticed Tthe trend since 2012 and the Governors did not believe us.

We have complained about the threats of herders carrying AK 47 around in the Southeast but as we speak now, nothing serious has been done to stop the trend.
