A former presidential aspirant, Adamu Garba II, has reacted to the investigative report of CNN on the Lekki shootings.

Recall that the peaceful #EndSARS protests were marred by looting and vandalism by hoodlums which occurred after the military attacked peaceful protesters at the Lekki toll gate on 20/10/20.

While the army, after finally admitting its soldiers were present at the scene, maintained that it didn’t fire live rounds at protesters reports have revealed otherwise.

The report also confirmed one death, with a family witness claiming the body (life or dead) is yet to be found, as opposed to the military and Lagos State Government’s claims that no life was lost.

Reacting to the report on his official Twitter page Garba who had previously sued the Twitter landlord, Jack Dorsey for supporting the #EndSARS movement refused to accept CNN’s report as conclusive.

He opined that the international media outfit is only doing its job, urging his followers to ” wait for response from authorities.”

“I would have sued CNN if they instigated or sponsored people of Nigeria against its Govt. But one thing is clear. CNN is doing its job: Investigative & not “Conclusive” reporting.

Meanwhile, Garba previously launched a $1 billion lawsuit against Twitter and its founder, Dorsey, at the Federal High Court Abuja, claiming that he “violated the international principles of nationhood and democracy by meddling into our local affairs”.

Garba tweeted on Oct 20: “Here’s your motion of notice, a fine of $1 billion in favor of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as compensation for lost lives, properties and convenience, as a result of your active support for funding of #EndSARS protests after the issues is been attended to by the Government.

“Under a clear mark of gross abuse of privilege, you used your platform to instigate a protest that has now turned into the breakdown of law and order in Nigeria. You should publish a public apology to the Nigerian government and people for violating our sovereignty to peace and security.

“You have violated the international principles of nationhood and democracy by meddling into our local affairs, knowing fully well that these are capable of toppling the democratically elected government of the day and slowing us down from progress on our hard-earned democracy journey. I trust that the Federal High Court of Nigeria will serve you the motion accordingly.
