Innoson Kiara Academy Kickstarts Three-Day Staff Retreat

Innoson Kiara Academy (IKA)/Bosch project for Auto Mechanics, yesterday January 20th 2021 commenced a three-day staff retreat at its Enugu Campus.

IKA is a technical and vocational institute established by an international consulting firm in partnership with Innoson group of companies.

In his opening remark Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Innoson Kaira Academy (IKA), Mr Endi Ezengwa in his opening address, appreciated the staff for their commitment, team spirit, dedication and sacrifices, assuring them that the future of the academy is bright.

Ezengwa commended National Business and Technical Examination Board (NABTEB), National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) and National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) for the role they have played soo far.

The IKA Boss who spoke extensively concentrated on factors such as human resources, equipment, environment, curriculum and delivery process, linkages with the industry, emphasized that competence is key in recruiting and grooming talents.

Speaking on the mission and vision of IKR, the CEO said the academy’s delivery model is geared towards bridging the gap between educational institutions and industry.


“This Academy offers courses that are tailored around the production process and procedures of various factories within the Innoson group using a modern apprenticeship system. ‘Our holistic delivery format offers a proven method for harnessing the latent energy inherent in our youth to produce a vibrant workforce that is financially active and useful to the nation in general and individual communities in particular

The registrar/Chief Executive (NABTEB), Prof. Ifeoma Isiugo Abanihe, in a goodwill massage to all the participants of the retreat organized by the Innoson Kiara Academy/Bosch project for Auto Mechanics, congratulated all the trainees who are participated in the programme, and wished IKA the best in their efforts in the training of Nigerian youths.

Abanihe, who was represented by Zonal Coordinator, South East, Ogbonnaya, Peter O. stated that the the board was established vide act 70 of 23rd August, 1993 with the mandate of taking over all technical.

‘Additionally, the board has the responsibilities to conduct craft-level certificate examination leading to the award of National Business Certificate (NBC), National Technical Certificate (NTC), General Certificate in Education (GCE), Advanced National Business Certificate (ANBC), Advanced National Technical Certificate (ANTC), Advanced General Certificate in Education (AGCE) and Modular Trade Certificate (MTC) Examinations amongst others.

‘You all recall that (NABTEB) over the years has been partnering with Innoson. While IKA does the training, NABTEB assesses and certifies the trainees. It is noteworthy to state that the certificate we issue to the graduates of different programmes organized by the Academy have helped them to become productive in the society and world of work.

‘Therefore, the programme you are going to undertake is highly required in the society and it requires that you put in your best during your stay here in IKA.

One of the facilitators Dr Ebele Nwafor who spoke extensively on project management stated that projects can be very complex with undertakings that require a huge amount of efforts. This includes initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling, closing.


The retreat had participants from Abuja, Innoson Kiara Academy, Nnewi branch, led by Ifeanyi Okeke. Intercontinental College of Technology (ICT) Makurdi, led by Mr Ben Dzwa and Kaira College (K.C) led by Mr Okezie Ezeigbo outlined their challenges and suggestions.
