The supreme leader of the indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu alongside the organization’s leadership has reinforced its existing suspension with immediate effect, the payment of all forms of monthly dues and levies by members of its organization in Biafra land.

Prior to this memo passed on the 8th of February, 2021 addressed to all IPOB principal servants in Biafra land, the Indigenous people of Biafra were tasked to pay levies between N1,000 and above in their individual chapters monthly.

This has caused controversies on social media platforms, accusing Mazi Kanu and the leadership of Biafra of extortion and related vices. This forced the hands of the supreme leader to take actions.

The IPOB directorate of state worldwide further emphasized that this ban is still effective and mandated all coordinators at all levels to comply accordingly.
