In a move to arrest and forestall future attacks, the apex socio-cultural organisation in Igboland, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, on Thursday, said it would convene a meeting of Igbo leaders to discuss the issue of insecurity in the zone, bearing in mind of Ebonyi killings by herdsmen. This was as Fulani herdsmen, who attacked Egedegede, Obeagu and Nkaleha communities of Ebonyi State and some parts of Enugu State between Sunday and Monday nights, killing over 22 innocent citizens, threatened to launch fresh attacks on the areas.

Troops of the Nigerian Army are currently battling gunmen suspected to be operatives of the Eastern Security Network (ESN) in Nsukka town of Enugu State, southeast Nigeria. Anaedoonline undersatnds that there has been apprehension in certain parts of the town since Wednesday, adding that the military took the battle to suspected ESN operatives where they believed they were hiding.

Police Operatives attached to Anambra State Command today 1st April, 2021 have arrested four (4) additional suspects in connection to the recent attack and gruesome murder of three (3)Policemen at Isuofia Civic Center in Aguata LGA of Anambra State.

The Former Central Bank Governor, and Governorship aspirant for November Gubernatorial election, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, has revealed how he narrowly escaped death when gunmen unleashed terror on him and his security aides on Wednesday evening. Charles Soludo also described the killing of three of his police orderlies as senseless while praying for repose of their souls.

The apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, on Thursday, condemned the attack by gunmen on former Central Bank Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo. Ohanaeze National Publicity Secretary, Chief Alex Ogbonnia, in an exclusive interview with The PUNCH, described the insecurity situation in the South-East as worsening, adding that people in the zone now live in raw fear after over 23 persons had been killed in the region within the last one week.
