The news about the death of popular Afenifere chieftain, Yinka Odumakin has been confirmed.
This was gotten in a statement and condolence message shared by veteran journalist, Dele Momodu, and the minister of state, Labour and employment, Festus Keyamo in a tweet.

Dele Momodu revealed that a friend who is also close to Yinka Odumakin confirmed the death of the Afenifere chieftain to him while weeping.

Festus Keyamo also said he has called his wife, and she confirmed that there were still at the hospital where he died
The activist, Yinka Odumakin had been on a ventilator at a treatment centre in Lagos.

His case reportedly took a turn for the worse last week.

His wife and fellow activist Joe Okei-Odumakin had just been informed as at the time of filing this report.
Odumakin, it was learnt, died at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital isolation centre.
His wife, Mrs Joe Okei-Odumakin, confirmed this on Saturday.
Newsmen were told that a delegation of Yoruba leaders were on their way to the residence of Afenifere leader, Ayo Adebanjo, to break the news to him.
The wife said, “A part of me is gone. A part of me is gone. He fought hard at the intensive care unit. Pray for me to survive this. My love is gone.

“He was OK before. Even on March 10 he was still attending meetings. He was recovering yesterday but he died this morning. I am at the intensive care unit. A part of me is gone.”
