Sulaiman Ibrahim Sulaiman, The Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Imo Governor Hope Uzodimma on Gender Vulnerable Groups Northern Affairs has dismissed the rumor that northerners are leaving the State over insecurity. He described the publication in a national newspaper (not The Nation) as completely false. Sulaiman told newsmen in Owerri the rumor was a calculated attempt to cause panic in the state.

A Nigerian rapper and hip hop recording artist, Tobechukw Ejiofor a.k.a IllBliss has released a video documentary ‘The Hero’s Walk,’ spotlighting the Igbo apprenticeship system. The rapper took to his official Twitter account @illblissgoretti on Thursday to share the video. He wrote, “The Hero’ Walk by Hero Lager is a documentary on Igbo Apprenticeship System.

Hell was let loose today at the town of Abagana in Anambra State, as no fewer than 10 unknown gunmen attacked First Bank PLC, earlier today. They shot into the air, dispersing bank customers and passersby and destroyed 2 cars parked in front of the bank. They reportedly also raised the Biafran Flag in front of the bank.

The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) has attributed the loss of power supply experienced by its customers in Owerrinta, Abia to activities of vandals. A statement by Emeka Ezeh, EEDC’s Head of Corporate Communications, on Wednesday in Umuahia, said vandals had attacked EEDC’s network in Owerrinta and vandalised 31 spans of aluminum conductor last week.

Enugu Electricity Distribution PLC (EEDC) has attributed the loss of supply currently being experienced in parts of its network to the recent heavy rain and windstorm. The company expressed that the situation which led to the loss of several High Tension (HT) and Low Tension (LT) poles, aluminum conductors as well as other line accessories, resulted in power outage affecting most of its 33KV and 11KV feeders.
